Mermaids and Shells in the Ocean

I suggest adding shells and mermaids to ocean biomes, creating unique interactions and opportunities for exploration and trading.

1. Shells

• Shells can be found in oceans near sandy beaches, coral reefs, or sea cucumbers.
• They could also be caught while fishing as a rare item.
• A new block, like shell sand or shellstone, could be introduced for crafting or decoration.

2. Mermaids

• Mermaids will spawn near coral reefs, sea cucumbers, or sunken ships, swimming underwater and occasionally surfacing.
• They will be peaceful mobs, with the ability to interact with players.
• Mermaids will have a human upper body and fish tail, with vibrant, ocean-inspired decorations. Their appearance may vary based on their surroundings (colorful near coral reefs, darker near sunken ships).

3. Trading with Mermaids

• Players can throw a shell near a mermaid, who will trade it for various items:
  • Rare potions (e.g., healing, night vision, resistance to ocean mobs).
  • Oceanic decorations (e.g., necklaces, rings, crowns made of coral or pearls).
  • Rare resources (e.g., pearls, sea crystals).
• The number of shells needed for each item may vary.

4. Additional Ideas

• Quests: Mermaids could offer challenges, like finding rare underwater items.
• Unique biomes: Areas like a "Mermaid Kingdom," a sunken city or coral reef, where mermaids spawn in groups.

  If they were friends with dolphins and attacked/ were attacked by Drowned it would add an interesting dynamic.
