Microsoft/Mojang is really becoming Nintendo 2.0 in patching everything fun that isn't intended

Agreed, they should also bring back spawn immunity.

Minecraft's movement is amazing, changing it ruins it.

I can walk, I can sprint.

I can walk while eating, I can walk a little faster while eating.

I can sneak, I can sneak a little faster. Just like I could IRL (not like this game is realistic in the first place, but thats besides the point)

I don't think that "fixing" this bug is that great of an idea because someone that has played thousands of hours probably won't have it fun trying to get used to the new changes. It used to feel fluid and now it feels just slow and janky.

I never even thought this was a bug but I had a feeling it wasn't 100% intentional. Even so, we have had it this way for so long and I don't think that many peaple will like it this way. If this is not changed before the next update this post will get way more votes and that almost garanteed.

Please Microsoft/Mojang just make this an intended feature instead.

It also affects sprint jumping into the elytra so its even worse

The sudden clunkiness of ground movement with the elytra was very jarring to me with this update and I was confused on why my sprint was being reset all the time.
I was really disappointed when I looked into it and saw elytra was affected by this patch.
I had almost 8 years of muscle memory built up for sprint jumping with the elytra to optimize ground movement.

This has never been the behavior for elytra. Since the introduction of elytra in 1.9 (long before the sprint sneak bug MC-152728 was introduced in 1.14.2) it has always retained your sprint if you were sprinting before entering a flying state.
It is my belief that elytra were misclassified as affected by the MC-15272 bug when they should not have been.
The logic used in the bug report is that the you cannot start a sprint during elytra flight, therefore you should not be able to retain sprint. However, this logic does not take into account the ramifications for player movement this change causes. Unlike the other player states (such as eating) there was also no advantage to sprinting during the elytra flight itself, as flight speed was never impacted by sprinting. This change has nerfed the usefulness of the elytra compared to it's launch state.

Removal of these mechanics do nothing to help the game and actively hinder skilled players while providing no benefit for unskilled ones. Mojang plz fix

The comment from a user on December 31, 2024, is completely correct. You take away movement options and call it a day. Maybe you should leave a good thing as a good thing instead of stubbornly forcing your "you will play our way" mandate.
