Currently, glow ink, and thus glow squids, are used only in item frames and signs, creating visibility without light in a way reminiscent of neon lights. There are however, some items that would make it a more complete feature, usable for an even greater variety of players.
- Leather Armor: Being able to make leather armor glow would be excellent for multiplayer. Being able to identify where your friends are in a dark cave when they are out of torches, or being able to assign teams in a way similar to how leather armor is already used, but far more identifiable at night.
- Wool Blocks: Glowing wool would allow the aforementioned neon aesthetic to fully be used in builds, creating contrast without creating visible light that might ruin ambience. This would also allow for filling another niche: Currently, the only way to build a dark structure outside peaceful, and not have mobs spawn, is by plating the entire floor with non-spawnable blocks. Glow wool could emit what I will coin as "invisible light," preventing mobs from spawning nearby, while maintaining appearance.
