Ideas for a MAJOR Cactus update!

I believe having edible cacti in Minecraft would be an interesting addition to the game as it heightens the experiencing of roaming the deserts of Minecraft which in my opinion, aren't interesting enough. The player could use shears to remove the spines of the cactus which would give you the item "Skinned Cactus" which when placed, would not harm you if you walked into it and when ingested, would replenish your hunger bar by two points. You could also put the cactus in a furnace which would ultimately give you "Grilled Cactus" which would replenish your hunger by 3.5 points. I also think the cactus lacks a little design and should have a variation that has prickly pears on it which the player could also eat. This would be an amazing addition to Minecraft as it also highlights more Mexican culture (Nopales) like how the axolotl update did.

So, Mojang, what are you waiting for? Give us a cactus update PLEASE!
