I think the Creaking should become faster and stronger the closer you get to the heart. The AI needs improvements. It also needs a distance attack to take players down from the treetops, so they cant hide up there and just find the heart easily by shooting arrows at the mob below(make it immune to arrows/able to climb or teleport). Else there is no real challenge by going to the Pale Garden. Beating and avoiding everything there seems easy. You do not need to engage with the mob itself, when you move on treetops and the Pale Garden is very dense so you never need to go down to the floor and encounter the Creaking in order to collect the new wood or sapling.
Maybe there also can be a mechanic that the heart can only be destroyed from underneath and not above? Or the heart could shoot projectiles/beams that makes players blind/irritated so they can't find/reach the heart so easily?
Design wise I think the Pale Garden and the Creaking are generally great, but I wouldn't mind a few extra touches. Like making the trees warped and the biome overall more scary looking. The Creaking could also be taller and scarier looking to actually intimidate the players. Dense foggy weather would be nice too. Taller trees might help with a taller mob, that also has a greater camouflage for being large like the trees are. The dirt blocks and the overall tree shape remind me too much of vanilla dirt+dark oak biome.
I also hope for more loot and structures in the Pale Garden, like the in Ancient City.
