Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Echo projector

This a new redstone component crafted with echo shards. It will record the closest sound and when powered the block is powered reemit that sound, even when the cause of that sound is no longer present.

This is a very rough idea, I have no idea on how it would affect redstone, if it would at all? How would it be used, is it useful? So that's why I strongly encourage commenting below and see if we can come up with a new use for the echo shards.
