This is such a cool idea. The thought of running away from a swarm of zombies just for them to turn to stone in a pale garden is such an unusual and unsettling concept.

I also made a post of an idea I had for a dual functionality for the Pale Garden, and a use for the Creaking Heart

that's such a clever idea! also some freakier ambient sounds inside the PG would go a long way

I think creaking hearts should do this when in the pale garden OR activated by redstone (but only if they are active). This effect should work outside of the biome as well, but operates outside the biome by a radius or by radius within pale moss in contact with pale wood effected by this.

I think this effect needs to be reduced to affecting undead mobs and golems outside the biome, so passive mobs can still do things.

This would work if the creaking itself was dangerous enought to deal with on its own.
As it stands, you could just dig a hole under one's feet to completely nullify the threat (not to mention its pitiful damage and speed).

Alternatively, if this is too much, I think making regular hostile mobs unable to spawn in the pale garden is good enough.
As pointed out, regular hostile mobs are much more dangerous than the creaking so having them spawn in there takes away a lot from the biome since the creaking becomes irrelevant

Instead of turning gray and freeze and be immortal, i think it would be much better if they can't see the player anymore if they enter the pale garden, so the ostile mobs stay always out. It wuold mean that during the night the player feel safe inside the pale garden but at the same time terrified because he knows he could meet a Creaking, fueling the sensations experienced by the player.

Very good idea! It really would help with keeping the PG eerie and not having that eerieness ruined by some random creeper blowing it up.
