I'm not a huge fan of the idea of Orange, I love the pure desaturated tone of the biome that makes it unique and I think that was Mojang's idea. But a pure white mushroom or black mushroom would be so awesome!

To start off with, I disagree with the orange wood but I will vote for pale mushrooms as there is something I want to add to your idea. I propose a rework of how you obtain the invisibility potion as it will involve the pale mushroom.

The current recipe of the invisibility potion doesn't make sense, the fermented spider eye creates negative potions with invisibility being an exception. In my opinion, night visions (Which makes you see better) negative and opposite potions should be something that makes you see worse. So invisibility will be made with the new pale mushroom. This mushroom will disappear during the day and reappear at night. This will incentivize entering the pale garden at night and facing the creaking. You may as well make it three blocks tall, with an unique decor plant.

So in summary. The current recipe of invisibility will be reserved for another potion that makes sense and the invisibility potion will be brewed with the pale mushroom, a nocturnal plant.

I will also continue to add ideas below in the comments circling around this feature.

Also please update your post to only focus on pale mushroom instead of several ideas like orange wood.

The empty potion recipe for what used to be invisibility could be used for blindness. At the moment blindness is in the game, there is just no way the player can easily use it. It would of course have splash and tipped arrow variants. A blindness potion addition to this update would increase interest in the update for prankers and PVP'ers.

We also have other effects in the game that would definitely make a difference in PVP. For example, the glowing effect granted with spectral arrows (Java edition). But once again this effect doesn't have potions to make it easily accessible. This glowing effect potion, may as well call it spectral potion is brewed by using a fermented spider eye on an invisibility potion. Invisibility potion, where you can't be seen; turned into a potion where you are seen too much (By having a glowing outline around you). Again, imagine the effects this would have on PVP, your opponent is trying to run away or hide underground. Instead of ten seconds, which is what you get with a spectral arrow, you could get eight minutes. This seems unbalanced but remember it would still be able to be counteracted with milk, the trade off is that the person you are fighting would lose their own potion effects. The addition of this potion would give further reason to go to the pale garden and gather the invisibility mushroom at night and face the horrors of the creaking.

I imagine that the pale mushroom (Including my previous discussed features) will grow on blocks similar to budding amethyst. It would be renewable but only obtainable in the pale garden at night. For use as a decor block, once it is picked it can be placed down anyway without disappearing. I would love to hear your thoughts on wherever or not it should be bonemeal-able or not. I'm thinking not.

Like some of the comments here, I think that you could add a new mushroom, which unlike other mushrooms in the game are instead shelf mushrooms that generate on the sides of the pale logs of the trees. These mushrooms could have a whitish color during the day, but at night turn into an emissive orange, much like the eyes of the creaking mobs. Given that their layouts could match the arrangement of the eyes of the creaking (three ‘shelves’ per mushroom), it could offer a false-positive for creaking mobs when navigating the forest at night.
