With so many options for food in Minecraft, many players opt for golden carrots or steak. But what if some of the other foods were given a new life?
Introducing: Juices!
The juices would be crafted in a block called the Juicer, which would be similar to the brewing stand. 9 of the plant would be placed in one section of the juicer, while a bottle would be placed in the other end. The plants could be combined into different ratios (all of which adds up to 90 seconds, with the effects all applied at once), making different juices with unique effects to suit the players needs, while also adding a more early-game version of brewing. (Maybe a new villager too!)
But what would the juices do? Well I'm glad you asked!
Watermelon could cause attackers to bounce back, like a reverse Knockback!
Sweet berries could cause the player to grow a temporary set of thorns, poking attacking mobs and players back!
Glow berries could give the player the power of the its vine, letting them climb walls and hang from ceilings!
Cactus juice could grant a temporary undying hunger bar, but at the cost of the players sanity, spawning phantoms when the effect clears!
Torchflowers could give the player a sort of "lava affinity", which wouldn't take the place of fire resistance, but would let the player swim thru lava quicker!
Even if the juicer isn't added, I feel as if adding a new dimension to these crops would make players more likely to seek out the "useless" crops, breathing new life into these old features!
