Combining creaking hearts with pale oak logs in different arrangements (helmet, chestplate, leggings, boots) should produce creaking armor. This special armor type would protect the wearer indefinitely if a creaking heart is placed nearby. Walking out of its range or destroying the creaking heart would disable the armor.
Players wearing activated creaking armor would have extra defense (not entirely safe from damage) but would be paralyzed if a mob looked directly at their head (without a carved pumpkin or skull on). The armor could be powerful but would not be practical unless performing a sneak attack. It's a cross between wolf armor and the creaking.
Creaking armor could come in different wood types (still requiring two pale oak logs, though), and it could be used to hide from or trick friends. I am hoping that this would also increase the amount of active mob farms used (compared to automatic ones) and/or add some strategy to battles. Of course, many things could be changed. For example, full creaking armor could be completely impenetrable but would freeze the wearer if looked at; having less armor would lower defenses but would simply slow the wearer.
