Crafting with the creaking heart

I think it would be cool and interesting if you could use the creaking heart in crafting. This would add more purpose to the biome other than just the creaking and the wood especially if the creaking heart was used in powerful items. One item that might be crafted with it is the creaking totem, or the heart totem. It would make the creaking mob protect you and attack anything you attack at nighttime as long as it is in your off hand. If you remove it from your off hand, the creaking would disappear like if you broke the creaking heart. It would also be cool if it could make a variety of other items that could be crafted in game.
