Wax to stop tick speed of a block

I love using vines in my builds, however to keep them at certain lengths, I have to use string, which can ruin immersion for me. With this suggestion, waxing the bottom of the vine will stop it from growing further. It would basically stop tick speed for that block, similar to waxed copper blocks. This could also be done with other items:

• Seeds to stop growing
• Sniffer plants to stop growing
• Saplings to stop growing
• Amethyst Buds to stop growing
• Turtle and Sniffer eggs to stop them from hatching
