I propose a new boss mob to be added, The Giant, as Minecraft has gone too long without a new, proper, boss mob.
First, let's start with its abilities. It has 3 attacks:
- Stomps and kicks do a lot of damage and knockback, but can be dodged, and are very slow. This allows for fun gameplay and a unique challenge.
- The legs' pushes do small amounts of damage, like melee of normal mobs, but are constant, to keep the flow and energy of the fight.
Giants are massive; they could have a dark green colored bossbar, 150 hearts(300 hp) and have many feats:
- 100% knockback resist
- 50% damage resist to explosions, and projectiles, to encourage melee fighting.
- Slightly faster stomp and kick attacks after falling below 50% health.
However, Giants cannot swim or burn.
When killed, Giants drop a rotten flesh and a new Giant's Tendon item, which can be combined with any armor piece via a Smithing Table. When done, the improved armor piece functions like it has all types of protection enchantments, but much less. (Possibly 2.5% overall damage resist per piece, for 10% in all). However, each giant only drops 1; the player must kill 4 for a full improved set. A full set also gives a 25% knockback resist.
Finally, Giants only spawn in a new Deserted Plains Biome (no structures). To face a giant, the player must willingly camp-in/stay in the biome for three nights straight, to make it the player's "fault." This is to encourage player exploration and also provide balance as Giants shouldn't be a random encounter.
