Overview:
The Hip Lantern is a wearable light source attached to the player’s belt, providing hands-free illumination for exploring dark areas, building at night, or adventuring in caves.

Functionality:

  • New Slot: Equipped in a new belt slot, leaving hands free for tools or weapons.
  • Automatic Lighting: Activates in low light (below light level 8) and emits light level 12, slightly dimmer than a torch.
  • Ambiance: The flame has a subtle flicker for a realistic feel.

Crafting Recipe:

  • 1 Iron Ingot (middle slot)
  • 1 Lantern (middle-bottom slot)
  • 1 Leather (bottom-left slot)
  • 1 String (bottom-right slot)

Enchantments:

  • Glow: Increases light radius by +3 per level.
  • Soul Lantern Mode: Converts it to a soul lantern, emitting blue light (level 10) and repelling Piglins.

    This would be very useful, but if the creators don’t want to add an extra slot it would be great if torches or lanterns placed in the left hand would emit light as you carry them in the same ways described here.
