Removing snow BLOCKS

It would be nice if there was a easy way to remove so blocks. just like water can remove snow layers and powdered snow, why not make lava remove snow blocks. Cuz water not melting snow blocks is logical for some reason. I mean it makes sence right? Lava can literally range to 2,190 °F. It wouldn't be logical to just put lava down on snow blocks just for the lave to sit there and have no effect on the snow.
