Remove Mangrove Roots from Mud

There should be a way to remove mangrove roots from mud to change Muddy Mangrove Roots back to straight Mud. Building in the Mangrove swamp is nice but the Mud cleans up nicely when you can remove all the Mangrove Roots all over the place but there isn't a way to remove the roots from the mud it seems.

Whether shearing it or burning the roots off in a furnace, any way would be great!
