Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Firefly Nests

A firefly nest could be a decorative block that functions similarly to the spore blossom, emitting gently glowing fireflies as a particle effect in a small area. I think it would be a really elegant way of implementing them into the game without needing to create a new mob, and it would be so fun to build with!

    The problem why fire flies weren't implemented is the missing use. Everything except very rare exceptions should have a use. I think a use would be to catch them with glas bottles and place them as light sources

    To the second commenter, I would argue that a new decorative block that could add more ambience to the game *is* a use in and of itself :)
