In a similar way that villages act as a tutorial for new players to get them building simple designs, it would be a good idea to have a biome full of large advanced building techniques that can teach players to build bigger and more intricate designs.
How I envision the Ruins biome:
- a large superflat region the size of a normal biome.
- large buildings reminiscent of modernity/industrial era with paved streets decorated with lots of brick, iron, and copper items
- all structures are in ruins, broken and reclaimed by vegetation
This would allow players a ton of exploration potential within these buildings, while also offering the choice to repair the city or recycle the resources.
Players could choose to use this biome for PVP, as a capital hub, a looting grounds, or anything they can think of, while using the techniques they’ve learned to build their own.
It also adds a bit of interesting lore potential, as these ruins would be more advanced than any of the current villages suggesting a great empire fell, leading to a lot of theories as to why. An explanation for where all those zombies came from?
I would greatly enjoy exploring those ruins. Thanks for the consideration.
