Raccoons are be pasive creatures that spawn in villages of all types, liking to stick to the shadows. They are most active at night, opening doors & even attempting to steal things from chests, but not double chests, as they are too heavy. They can be bred with raw salmon, and healed with most other food items & when given a diamond, they will examine it with closely, before they're tamed, and a bandana appears around their neck. Like wolves and cats, this can be dyed with any colour, including glow squid ink for a cool pattern.
Once tamed, they can be made to sit, follow, or wander. While wandering, they will try and find a nearby villager, who they will attempt to steal an item from. This item is randomly picked from the villager's current trades, as well as their next trading level. If they succeed, the raccoon will bring the item to you and drop it at your feet. They will not steal items from chests once tamed, instead picking up floating items and bring them to you. You can get anything out a tamed raccoon's mouth by sneaking while interacting with them. Since raccoons love shiny things, they might leave you a random ore or mineral in the morning, & they also share some sleeping mechanics with foxes, having their own model for sleeping.
When killed, the raccoon drops nothing, encouraging players to leave them alone. Adding the raccoon into the game could not only help promote raccoons' welfare, but also teach more players about them.
