To prevent the “two week minecraft phase”, it would be cool to have a reason to expand and build our home bases. So we should have special raids (like pillagers) that are tied to the size of our bases, and types of materials that are used in our cities. The larger the cities, the more difficult the raids should be. Additionally, the larger the base and more diverse the materials within the base it should spawn more special mobs. These mobs should only be available from these raids, and should drop raid specific items. Once a raid is complete a status of the level of difficulty should be represented in a special drop only available in Survival. This type of system gives players reasons to build and expand survival bases into larger and interesting cities. At the moment, once all main resources have been gathered and the main bosses beaten, there isnt a reason to expand or keep playing without restarting, by adding special raids tied to the size and diversity of the base it would be like special bosses for continued progression. The final bosses can even be multiple over world dragons or something. These raids can even have leader boards tied to realms so you can compete with friends in non PVP play.
