Sometimes the shield is kinda OP, just with some wood and one iron we can ignore almost every damage in the game, there are some ideas to balance the shields:
- Now the shield doesn't protect you from the 100% of the explosions damage, or (other people had the idea) the explosions can disable your shield like axes
- (As I recall) In bedrock we can punish back mobs when they attack the shield, I think is better to the otherwise and, depending the damage, you can be pushed if they attack you
- Now arrows will only stick in your shield but will not bounce off
- Finaly, if your shield breaks, you can't use another one in the next 5-10 seconds
I think some of this things can come back as an enchantment, that can only be found in, for example, the trial chambers, but that idea needs another post 😅
