Instead of just being found in the Deep Dark, what if a new variant of Ancient Cities were found in the End. These cities could be made out of End Stone Bricks, along with chiseled and cracked variants of the bricks. Nothing in the game shows that Sculk can only grow deep underground, so what if also grew in the End Dimension. Sculk sensors and catalysts would be here, but what if instead of Shriekers and the Warden there was a new mob: The Searchlight. Although Sculk is blind, nothing says that they can’t detect light themselves. It would be a flying mob with 500 health just like the Warden, but would constantly emanate a special blue light from its face. Because of the mobs ultra-sensitive body, it would be able to detect when the light bounces off of a strange material, such as the body of a mob or a player. The mob can be alerted of the presence of life by a Sculk sensor, and would look in the direction of the sound that alerted the sensor. It would also have hearing and a sense of smell, though it would be much worse than the Warden. When it detects the player or a mob, it would cycle between a swooping attack that knocks the player back and a powerful beam attack. When killed, it wouldn’t drop valuable loot just like the Warden. One new piece of loot would be found in the new cities: the Ancient Portal Key. This would be used to activate the portal located in the center of the city. The portal would be used to connect an End Ancient City to a Deep Dark Ancient City.
