Hello Mojang and to anyone who finds this well,
Proposal:
I really like the concept for beacons as and end game tool as they have the potential to unlock and make larger projects possible. That being said, the current range of beacons being 50x50 is tiny. Beacons were added 12 years ago to Java and 8 years ago to Bedrock. Since then, Mojang has updated the world size, the terrain, biome size, and more. I propose that because of these changes, the beacon size or that beacons as a whole should be revamped. Just my house alone has a surrounding area wider than 50 blocks and for many people, beacons do not cover anywhere near their entire base. The only solution to this is to have multiple beacons, but that many beacons around looks ugly especially for people with large spaces of land!
Possibilities:
Some possibilities to upgrade beacons include:
- Adding additional layers to expand beyond 50x50
- Changing the beacon radius to depend on the base's material and / or offering presented
- Allowing copper to be used for the beacons base
- OR simply changing the radius
Thank you for reading,
