For a potential end update, the process of obtaining the elytra would need a rework. For example, if you play on a multiplayer server and someone loots all the nearest end cities, you could travel for thousands of blocks to find an end city with a ship, which is especially hard to do if you don't have an elytra. If you obtained the elytra through a vault, like the trial chambers, it would allow multiple people to raid the same end city and still get the elytra. The ominous trial event could be implemented here too. You could get a potion (maybe from an end-exclusive mob) that would give you the end equivalent of bad omen. Also, you could make elytras exclusive to an end variant of the ominous vault, and rare, maybe only 10-15% of the time, making it a more end game item. This would solve the issue of elytras being an extremely overpowered item, but obtainable potentially hours after starting a world. The ominous events could also trigger end-exclusive potion effects to fall, like an effect that would cause mobs to teleport randomly in a small radius 10% of the time when hit. Some end-exclusive enchantments would be a great touch, like an enchantment that goes on the chestplate, and allows players to teleport a small distance, maybe 2-3 blocks, and increases with the level, but does not go nearly as far as throwing an ender pearl, to not make it too overpowered. Maybe it could olny increase to level 3, which would teleport the player a max of 10 blocks. Thanks for your time.
