Marks on the bark

It would simply be nice to find alien signs on the bark, like the Greek phi or engraved eyes or hearts, perhaps leading to ruins, caves, old archaeological sites or small bonfires in the woods. You can take them with an ax and put them in a frame, it would be nice to then debark a trunk and make a home with it, adding that bark to the wood.
