Important disclaimer : I do not believe there should be foundational changes to rail logic, as it could break many builds that use and understand it already, I do believe that players should have a way to have a greater say in it however, in a way that should be cross compatible between bedrock and Java.
Rail Logic is currently split between Bedrock and Java, with bedrock having a semi-random system dependent on coordinate, and Java featuring a directional preference system. In short, this leads to many headaches and strange workarounds for builds, and a massive gap in parity that cant be easily matched between them.
I propose the addition of player agency. Players should be able to right click with a tool (pickaxe?) to change both the powered and unpowered state. Right clicking could rotate the turn clockwise, which would cover all different vanilla connections. Allowing this in both powered and unpowered states provides a massive amount of configurability for how rails turn, and makes rail logic less of an obstacle for both veteran and new players alike.
Adding this means builds can be made the same facing all directions, across both java and bedrock, without breaking existing builds.
