The ability to move Tile Entities (chests, hoppers, dispensers etc.) is a feature that has been wanted in the java edition for many years now. The bedrock edition has it, and has had so for a long time.
The previously considered feedback page states that merging the java and bedrock redstone systems into one system that works the same in both versions isn't going to happen due to it breaking many of the redstone builds people have made so far. This makes sense, people have used blocks like dispensers in contraptions such as slime elevators as they can apply an appealing look. Yet I don't see why this one specific highly requested feature can't be added as a gamerule? People who want older redstone builds to continue working can turn it off, and people who want the option to use the feature can keep it on. Additionally, other requested mechanics have been added as gamerules such as infinite lava sources.
Personally, I can't see why this isn't already in the game already as both mods and the April fools voting update have already implemented this, proving it is possible with the way the java edition is coded. I feel adding this mechanic as a gamerule would allow for many more redstone builds to be possible, significantly improving the experience both new and experience players have with redstone.
