Placing food items on surfaces!

I use creative mode quite often, and the one thing that's always been missing is my empty dining tables! I'd love to be able to place bowls of soup and other food items. As a side note it would also be awesome to place swords and other tools on surfaces! Item frames are just boring. I think it would make creative mode incredibly immersive! It would really bring the interiors of my builds altogether!
