Callum and Hugh at Brookthorpe Hall School (an SEN school in Gloucestershire, UK) have come up with their own idea of a new update for Minecraft, complete with new status bars, mobs, conditions and blocks!
They call it: "The Fleas and Disease Update"!
The fundamental idea surrounds new parasitic creatures and the diseases that they can carry, such as Lyme Disease from Ticks or the Plague from Fleas.
To treat diseases such as these the player would have to seek out either the Pharmacist or the Plague Doctor - both new villagers.
They've also designed a host of new mobs across the surface world, the Nether and the End. These include:
Fleas, Leaches, Ticks, Adders, Tape Worms, Rats, The End Whale, The Nethalo (A giant platypus creature native to the Nether) and many more.
The placeable blocks include: Bug Jars, Rat Cages, Tree Frog Buckets and Rusted Iron.
They've also imagined a new hostile mob that would spawn in their new biome: the Acid Pools. This mob would be called the Stalker and have one very large eye and would follow the player and hide from them until ready to attack.
The new stat bars include a stamina bar and a hydration bar - these would both be affected by the various diseases and conditions that the player could contract during their adventures.
We would love any feedback on the update concept, we are all massive fans of Minecraft!
Kind Regards,
Ed Farrow, teacher at Brookthorpe Hall School.
