Once again, I still insist that Soul Speed should not cost the durability of boots. The reason is very simple.
Firstly, as an optional enchantment to boots, it has already been hard for players to barter with piglins, and the possibility for Soul Speed has been extremely low. Although it is fantastic that it can increase the speed of players when they are walking on soul sands or soul soils, it is really annoying that it costs durability, which will cause players to repair their boots from time to time. Nobody hopes to see any single piece of their armour to be damaged at any time!
Secondly, according to Minecraft Wiki, even the netherite boots can only allow a player to walk 12025 soul-series blocks. According to the formula calculating the cost of armour durability, even players have enchanted their boots with Unbreaking III, it can only support them to walk at most 17178 blocks. Besides, there does exist a lot of players that hope to walk or run faster without costing any durability, including I myself. If we exclude boats or elytra or the beacon or any other redstone machines like TNT cannon, only Soul Speed can be the most efficient way for us to go from one place to another place.
So, I really hope that Mojang can do some change on the mechanism of Soul Speed in order to improve player's gaming experience.
