With the recent change to the Wind Burst enchantment not triggering on regular hits, I feel as though the mace has become impractical and generally unfun for the player to use.
I agree that effects triggering on regular hits was to powerful. However, the recent change to the enchantment causes the effect to rarely trigger as the current ways of gaining height are ineffective or unreliable. Such ways are:
A. Use wind charges, which can be difficult for some players to obtain quickly and reliably. And can be used up during regular play.
B. Building up with blocks, this leaves behind a mess and is generally ineffective as mobs (especially those with projectiles) can knock players off.
C. Use jump boost, which ineffective due to the smash attack not triggering because the effect doesn't go high enough. Jump boost is also difficult to obtain (requiring a rabbit's foot)
I think a simple way to fix this is to have the enchantment trigger at a lower height (maybe even just critical hits). Or, an option that end game players would like, was if Wind Burst triggered during elytra flight, knocking you out of flight into the air. The mace doesn't need to scale damage with the elytra, because this allows players to gain height reliably. This also gives players more of a reason to substitute their chest plate slot with an elytra, as they can choose to be more aggressive.
I believe a change would suit the enchantment and weapon well, as they are both considerably rare and difficult to obtain.
