Place-able seats

I know Mojang doesn't want chairs. Seats, however, will be place-able carpet-like items you can use to sit on them as if riding an animal.

Seats are crafted using wool. They can be dyed.

Due to them being so simple, they can be used to make chairs, stools, thrones, and many cool places to sit on. This customizability keeps them true to Minecraft.
