they need to make the map an interactive and cut down on the large amount of data made with the use of maps, and make it more useful by being able to be use in the nether and in the end. and for ez mode make the map part of the Ui a fix the bad inventory Ui and merge it the crafting menu for bedrock and put the map Ui in as a menu.

I think it could be even safer, maybe they should block people from downloading the game and future updates!

Mojang should just add back access to the PDB file on bedrock, it means that proper mods and mod loaders are possible there, as opposed to the low power, low quality "add-ons" you get otherwise. There are other measures mojang, and you as the player, can take to combat hacking.

And to that random person in the comments saying this would help them cuz a random player entered their personal server:
WOMP WOMP that's on you. If you were subject to a port scourer, then it's your responsibility. In future, keep your server in online mode when playing and add a whitelist. If you used external connection-type mods that may have a vulnerability then that's also on you.
For the most part that last bit also has nothing to do with the main post, that's not something it would fix lol.

Almost all of the public Java and Bedrock servers, and mods for Java and bedrock (bedrock has a very small handful of proper mods, they were just picking up as well, ironic tbh) rely on the PDB (for BE) or the Obfuscation Map (for Java) to work and modify the game.

And this change wont improve security as much as ppl think, most servers already use anti-cheats, and you can protect personal worlds by using a whitelist. Removing this type of access is not the miracle fix people think it is.

Even if the Obfuscation maps are removed and it is uses DMR. Many people say it will make MineCraft much safer, but that's technically not true, using DMR and removing Obfuscation maps, won't stop hackers. If they want something they'll spend hours trying to get it. And removing the obfuscation maps has the risk of really hurting minecraft's community and popularity. Most people don't try make malicious mods, and if you download one, that's on you. You're responsible. Don't blame it on the obfuscation maps being provided. because you didn't check to make sure that the mod was completely safe, The hackers will always (And I mean ALWAYS) find a way. The average person might have more trouble, so legit modding will be greatly affected. I

agree with everyone that said to request better server anticheat. Instead of requesting the obfuscation map be removed.

Mojang: I'm sure many players will agree (and many will not), but for the sake of minecraft please keep the obfuscation maps, but instead make better anticheat. Many people love this game. And many (including me) fear that removing the obfuscation maps will only hurt MineCraft.

Ps. If you can't read code, maybe ask some ai helper to make a python script that can determine whether or not that file is safe (may or may not work.) Or determine whether or not the file is malicious.

Thank You for reading. I hope this comment will help.

    Sincerely.

There needs to be a downvote button on suggestions, and this is a perfect example on one that needs it. This would completely and utterly destroy modding, and for what? Because you're mad that they did it to Bedrock? Go tell them to make some other way of modding in Bedrock instead of ruining it for everyone else.

I hate this idea. Modders use the obfuscation map to make their mods. This would harm the modding community for no benefit to anyone else.

All these java people in the comments completely unable to detect sarcasm. Also suggesting solutions like asking mojang nicely to add another way to mod, as if the community hasn't tried everything we can lol
