So, a lot of us remember a bug back in older versions of Minecraft. This was the farlands, and before I provide more details about the farlands themself, I'd like to focus on why I want them added in the first place. Other than being nostalgic like crazy, a good reason is because the world border seems off for Minecraft's theme. It looks like it's from a mod, and that for certain isn't "Minecrafty". And by adding the farlands I don't want them to make the world infinite. Honestly, I'd recommend a giant bedrock wall that stretches all across the back of the farlands that reaches build hight. To stop people from jumping over or flying with an elytra over the wall, I think making the elytra break, or stop working while in the farlands. This would stop people from using the elytra. Jumping is a bit more tricky. Now that I think of it, it would be a good idea to make the bedrock wall a few blocks above Hight limit making the jump impossible. The only thing I would consider adding to the farlands might be a super rare ore. The ore I have in mind is utherium. A ore that is equally as strong as netherite but with some different benefits. This armor can have a chance to enchant itself when disturbed with a random protection enchantment. Since this will prevent regular enchantments, I think a new system called "quick enchant" will help. This means you can enchant armor using only 10 levels and last 30 mins. Same thing with tools. Auto enchants for them just buff what their use is.
