One solution I see to this problem would be to nerf the speed/mobility ability, based on the amount of items the player has in their inventory. For this, a predetermined "weight" would have to be added to each item in the game, which would make the player go slower and slower until reaching the point where it seems that our character is not moving, this would force us to only Carry the items that we really need for the adventure and leave the rest at our bases or, failing that, leave them lying around. Of course you might think that it might be a very drastic nerf, but being a little critical, this solution would add an extra touch of realism to the game. Even if the question of item weight eventually becomes a bit tedious for players in both the midgame and endgame, you could add an enchantment at that level of the game or if you want a potion of a duration (x), which gives us a greater carrying capacity than the base one, thus allowing the ease of carrying more weight, this enchantment/position could have several levels from 3 to 5 if you want, which an example What occurred to me is that it would be named after (exertion enchantment/potion 1, 2, 3, ....).
