There are limitations to sound extensibility in Bedrock as compared with Java edition.
My suggestion is that we should have capabilities to enable add-ons:
- To be created that extend sound.
- Can be triggered by redstone (such as dropper/jukebox)
We can currently extend sounds in Bedrock using /playsound this is great for map makers, but does not work for world immersion for a regular player. I also propose that this suggestion is for enabling sound extensibility for add-ons rather than this feature being in the core game, as recording audio unchecked could take up significant space.
These are some examples of the suggestion being applied:
- Creating custom music discs, without overwriting existing discs.
- Accessibility - adding "points of interest" in a Minecraft world to verbally describe for those with accessibility requirements.
- Richer Environment - Verbal cues such as a train station announcement, or your base communicating a concept.
