I believe this topic is worth your consideration, let me explain my idea:
Cloudy weather is often depicted as gloomy or melancholic and though I agree with that viewpoint I think it’s also more than just that — it can be calming compared to the energy and excitement sunny weather brings out in us and it can also be considered relaxing as it tends to make us gravitate towards activities like gardening or relaxing indoors with a book or a nostalgic game
I believe that such weather deserves a place in minecraft not only for the above reasonings on why I like cloudy weather in general but also for the reasons I like it as a concept in minecraft: providing a more seamless transition from clear weather to rain, making rain perhaps more unpredictable (expecting rain and getting cloudy weather or vice versa) and perhaps interactions with the daylight detector block (such as not sensing daylight, only sensing it partially or sensing it but putting out less of a redstone signal)
For these reasons I believe I have made my point clear enough to be considered but perhaps I am wrong and cloudy weather doesn’t have a place in minecaft… but I can’t help but ask you dear reader, has minecraft not added small atmospheric features in their updates before? And can they not do it again?
Please forgive my dramatics, it’s just how I roll =)
