With the Trails and Tales update came the feature of smithing templates, allowing for the customization of armor as well as the ability to upgrade diamond gear to netherite through the use of the netherite upgrade smithing template. However, due to the nature of the update, players need to embark on an adventure to find these rare templates. In order to prevent the need to go find a new one even if one type has already been found, seven diamonds and a special block associated with the template can be used to make a copy and therefore the player will not have to find one again. However, in my opinion this is too expensive for templates considering they are purely cosmetic. My solution to this problem is to give templates durability. Each usage of one on the smithing table, instead of completely consuming one, will take one fifth of the durability of the template, allowing for four usages before the player must copy it. This would in my opinion further balance smithing templates and make them more fun to use rather than expensive.
