Diamonds. Every OG minecrafter and even new players know this ore. However nowadays it doesn't have the same appeal when you first found diamonds. But why?
- Rarity-Finding Diamonds was so special. It used to be a milestone of progress. So how did it became something a player has in fat stacks? Due to recent updates, they became more and more mediocre. Nowadays you can just trade or loot it.
- Enchantments-Diamonds were once important for getting stronger tools. But today, thanks to enchantment books, its purpose became worthless.
- Uses-Over time, as new updates got release, Mojang created new items and their recipes needed an item to be used. Iron was right in the middle, not too common, but not too rare either, allowing Mojang an easy way to solve their problems. Also, ever since the Nether Update, gold got a use for trading with piglins. However diamonds never got any new uses, used only in jukeboxes, enchanting tables, diamond equipment, and the new armor trims.
- High-Quality Equipment-The biggest dent in its reputation was when Netherite was added in, losing its place as the strongest ore in game.
So, discussing the problem, I also have a solution. add a new ore for the end and use diamonds like how gold was used by netherite. This will get it back up on its feet again as an iconic memory, now possible to be etched forever in history books, echoing forever...
