another post was made similar to this, but was short and I feel I have a bit more to add:
When mobs that can burn in daylight, say a zombie, are not trying to attack anything (are idle) they should try to avoid well-lit areas and search for the nearest shaded area. This would add some strategy, as if you have an overhang on your roof then mobs would try to go there during the day to avoid burning. But if you put torches on your wall, they wouldn't try to go there and would burn to death. Likewise when it starts getting brighter just before sunrise, they would try to find shade once the light level is "intolerable," instead of just waiting to catch fire THEN find shade.
When chasing a player or a villager however, they will ignore their fear of light and try to attack.
Just a small idea I thought of when zombies started crowding underneath the overhang of my village wall.
