With the Android 17 release, Google will require new devices to use ANGLE for most applications (essentially, switching from an allowlist, meaning only certain apps utilize ANGLE, to a denylist, meaning all apps utilize ANGLE except for those on a specific list). By “new devices,” Google means devices that ship with chipsets built for the new Android release.

For games such as Minecraft that rely on OpenGL ES, the rendering engine will fall back to Angle which either completely brake or negatively impact performance in vibrant visuals.

The list of SoCs that currently do not have a native OpenGL ES driver :

    - Mediatek Dimensity 9500

    - Google Tensor G5

    - Samsung Exynos 2200

    - Samsung Exynos 2400

    - Samsung Exynos 2500

    - Samsung Exynos 2600

    - (I will update the list as time goes on)

If you have a phone with one of the SoC from the list, do not be surprised if Vibrant Visuals is either not available or that Minecraft stutters constantly, Minecraft Bedrock currently lack a Vulkan backend on Android.
