Let's talk about the new Minecraft Launcher Home Page!

In the official Minecraft Launcher, we have just released a new feature under the “experimental” banner: The New Home Page.  

This new Home Page aims to be your basecamp into the Minecraft experience on PC. Here, you can do all the most basic Launcher functionality, from launching games, to accessing Quick Play, to finding out News about what’s going on in the world Minecraft.

If you want to give it a try, go into the Launcher’s “General” Settings tab, scroll down to the “Experimental Features” section, and click the “Enable HomePage” option. Once you do, your “News” section will change to the brand new “Home” layout.  

We would love to hear your feedback as we continue fine-tuning the Home Page. We want to know what you think and how this works for you, so please feel free to add your comments and thoughts under this post. Along with your general feedback, we also have some specific questions we’d like you to consider: 

  • What do you find useful about the new Home Page? 
  • Are there any key functionalities you feel are missing? 
  • Does anything feel like it’s in the wrong place? 
  • Was anything you’re used to accessing difficult to find? 
  • Is there anything you see here that you don’t think you need?

    Where is the skin Customisation?? 

    Do we get a Video to learn where everything is?

    Looks great but i think you could have a NameTag up the top left corner showing you which acount username your using and the skin customisation could have its own logo next to the play button!!! 

    And when you scroll down the pictures are WAYYYY to stretched i feel like my eyes saw the length.

    And can we have an option to keep the old one?

    Seriously? The old launcher was perfectly functional and needed no renovations. It's not even outdated. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

    yeah it needs a revamp alot because it is really boring(no offence Mojang) and this new design looks nice!

    Recently turned the home page option on and found that it has a lot of unnecessary bloat covering the screen instead of having more useful information. I found the launcher back in 2018 way more intuitive, cleaner, faster and overall more useful displaying different photos of each update that came out right on the home screen, a big green play button with the arrow to switch versions. That's all we need. The rest is pretty much unnecessary and the quick launch, that let's you switch between your worlds through the launcher is just one or two clicks removed, completely useless. Give us an option to customize the launcher to our liking, if we want older styled launchers let us make it like that. If e want the 2018, or even the Legacy launcher ui let us choose that! The new launcher just isn't productive and the stupid existence of the other Minecraft rip offs without owing them on the side bar is just terrible. Fix up your launcher, for now I'm switching to OLauncher because of this.

    Here is what i think:

    Its GOOD but i feel like news and patch notes need to be separated and that the games icons on the right need to be removed or at very least smaller than what they currently are or be changed from the right to the bottom or the top ,and make the version selector more compatible with other launchers like curseforge or modrinth to access mods and modpacks from the same launcher other that using different launchers

    Thank you for the update, but I want to emphasize the importance of localizing news content into Russian. While the launcher supports Russian, the absence of news localization is felt. It’s an important aspect for full immersion in the game. I hope the developers will take this into account in future updates. Thank you for your work!

    1. Fix Blurry Images: Ensure that all images within the launcher, such as game thumbnails or background images, are of high quality and optimized for display.

    2. Cleaner Layout:

      • Consider redesigning the launcher interface to have a cleaner layout, possibly by simplifying the navigation menu or organizing content into more intuitive categories.
      • Provide options to customize the layout based on user preferences, such as hiding certain elements or rearranging the interface.

    3. Hide Sidebar via Button: Introduce a toggle button or gesture control to hide or show the sidebar in the launcher, giving users the flexibility to focus on the main content when desired.

    4. Adjust Elements:

      • Lower the position of elements like the news feed and search bar to create a more balanced and visually appealing layout.
      • Ensure that essential elements, such as the game launch buttons, remain easily accessible and prominent.

    5. Enlarge Banner Image: Increase the size of the banner image at the top of the launcher to make it more visually impactful and immersive for users.

    6. Animated Banner: Implement subtle animations or dynamic elements into the banner area to enhance its visual appeal and create an engaging user experience. This could include animated backgrounds, transition effects, or interactive elements that respond to user interactions.

    Possibly condense the read more button to just the corner? It's very useful but too big for my liking.

    Its nice nut i think it need something I don't know what it is maybe removing that informational banner on the left and there is a bug where sometimes the icons on top don't show other than that its amazing

    Its really cool. For me its the only menu in english (because i'm french); but yeah this seems really cool !

    I sort of like the look of it, but the majority of the mobs that are shown aren't even a part of the original game. Not everyone has Dungeons or Legends, and newbies might be confused or worse yet excited about seeing all these amazing creatures, then logging onto Minecraft and discovering they don't exist.

    Nevertheless, I like the search bar, but I strongly think that a Play Button's natural habitat is the bottom of a screen: this one looks a little out of it's depth. It's also not big enough: a Play Button should be so big that it's simply irresistible to tap it.

    I like the general look of the thing, but I think that a little work can be done.
