Let's talk about the new Minecraft Launcher Home Page!

In the official Minecraft Launcher, we have just released a new feature under the “experimental” banner: The New Home Page.  

This new Home Page aims to be your basecamp into the Minecraft experience on PC. Here, you can do all the most basic Launcher functionality, from launching games, to accessing Quick Play, to finding out News about what’s going on in the world Minecraft.

If you want to give it a try, go into the Launcher’s “General” Settings tab, scroll down to the “Experimental Features” section, and click the “Enable HomePage” option. Once you do, your “News” section will change to the brand new “Home” layout.  

We would love to hear your feedback as we continue fine-tuning the Home Page. We want to know what you think and how this works for you, so please feel free to add your comments and thoughts under this post. Along with your general feedback, we also have some specific questions we’d like you to consider: 

  • What do you find useful about the new Home Page? 
  • Are there any key functionalities you feel are missing? 
  • Does anything feel like it’s in the wrong place? 
  • Was anything you’re used to accessing difficult to find? 
  • Is there anything you see here that you don’t think you need?

    the idea of a quick homepage for fast utilisation is very clever and useful

    many streamers tend to play minecraft at the first instant they open the game without actually caring about the news and other texts... so my preference would be to increase the size of quick play button and make the news short and viewable in the launcher it self [not patch notes]. im basically saying to increase the font and size of the play button and please make the update features short and cover all the important ones in them,,, i hope this feedback would be helpful and could be implemented in some how manner...

    thank you mojang community with the wonderful updates and features ... really have to say this isnt a game minecraft is a lifestyle... i often feel relazed when playing in my survival world and with my pets and farms its just soo lively.... mc is a drean that perhaps all people dream to live someday

    Wow, this is great

    You could:

    -Improve the quick play buttons to look smoother

    -Perhaps make the images higher res? Image 1 is already perfect

    -Add a bit more seperation so that it feels a little less claustrophobic (Specifically the news + patch notes area)

    - (You don't really need to do this) Add more backgrounds?

    Amazing work, keep it up!

    I actually really like the Home page much better than the News page as long as when I open up the launcher it doesn't send me to the homepage but rather keeps me in the version of Minecraft(Java, Bedrock, Windows, etc.) like it already does. I do like how the page displays the changing screens, but on the bottom left of the screens the description could be a little bit smaller. The little pause button for the screens is a cool little feature as well. I especially like the new way the different news and patch notes are with the image, the description, date, and the color coded categories saying what version(Java, Bedrock, Windows, etc.) it is and whether it is news or a patch note. I like the search bar and filters that the new homepage offers as well for the different news updates. I don't really like that the buttons on the left of the PLAY button at the top go straight to your world and I don't really think it's necessary. What could go there rather than the different worlds that you play on could be the latest used of the different installations that are on your computer for that version of Minecraft(Java, Bedrock, Windows, etc.). On the right of the PLAY button could be just the version of Minecraft(Java, Bedrock, Windows, etc.) rather than having the installations there too. I do think that those things with the play button would add something to the aesthetics of the screen as well. Overall though, I really like it. Keep up the good work. Thanks!

    I think it looks pretty nice! Definitely better than anything before. Much more organized, and easy to find what you need and overall less confusing.

    Maybe the top page can switch a bit more slower and have some animations? That blinking looks a bit out of place, but other than that 10/10!

    It's a great experience using the UI, just improve the slideshow images quality, then it will be better!!

    So far its a lot better that I can feel...
    However the most dumbest thing is to run MC you have to 1 have a hotmail/microsoft account & 2 you have to have internet to run the game entirely.... Which I'm going to complain about that garbage....
    Those 2 things are the most annoying.

     

    Other than that I love the new setup & the game entirely... But those 2 issues really make me angry!
