Enchantments could use a new upgrade/tier system. Currently as it stands, enchanting has became just villager trading. So a way to fix this issue would be giving them tiers. Tier 1 could be lvl 1 or 2 enchants (E.I Protection 1 and Protection 2), Tier 2 could be lvl 3 4 5, and lastly tier 3 enchantments requires an anvil and a maxed enchant, plus 1 specific item to create it. However, the newly upgraded item is at lvl 1, but it retains the enchantment used at lvl 2. For Instance, say that Protection 4 + Blaze Rod makes Fire Protection 1, but Fire Protection 1 gains an additional buff, also being Protection 2.
Here's some new enchants that could work well with this idea in mind.
Heavy Weight (Makes user slower but durability taken is Dec, and knockback resistance)
Light Weight (Makes user faster but durability taken from armor Inc, and knockback is slightly Inc)
Life Steal (User gains HP equal to ¼ of the dmg dealt, also they gain 1 XP per 2 dmg dealt)
Dash (User is faster by x but Dec hunger by x as well)
Sturdy (Inc base durability)
Frequency (Dec durability taken from aoe/sound ATKs by 2, and when launch in air, armor becomes invis.)
Rose Garden (Inflicts passive dmg to target when hit (works like poison or wither))
Blitz (Inc ATK Spd but lowers base ATK.)
