Drinking a bottle of a liquid to trigger Omen feels... strange. Drinking something only affects the player internally, so why should it warn people a long distance away? Or affect a magic box?
If the whole idea is to signal to the Pillagers, or to others, that 'I'm ready for a bigger challenge, BRING IT ON' then wouldn't blowing a magic horn make a lot more narrative sense?
My proposal... make it a one-use magic horn.
- Blowing it in a village means the pillagers *hear* it, unlike a potion being drank. Narratively, the invitation to attack is an audible 'dare' that can magically travel the distance to the nearest pillagers.
- Inside a trial chamber, it 'challenges' the magic of the dungeon to give you greater risk and greater rewards. Narratively, it's only heard inside there because it's far under ground.
It could be something else even - i.e. a scroll that gets read aloud, an amulet that can be broken in half, etc. - but there are way more options that are more narratively satisfying than a bottle of liquid.
