It's crafted with a slime block to prevent infinite slime duping, though I still think that's possible with looting.

I like the first idea with the silverfish scales, but the second one is too OP. If you could craft the oozing potion with one slimeball but then get more than one back from the effect, that's now infinite slime you got.

This change is much needed. Also some points:

    1. Because this potion doesn't work on players but only mobs, they can have a different base potion for making these - for example the mundane potion. This means mundane potion can be used to brew those categories of potion which can only be used on mobs and not players. This will add a use for the mundane potion, and will also make it more intuitive.

    2. People have been putting concerns that changing the brewing recipe from slime block to slime ball will make it too OP. Well it already is OP. You can make one splash potion of oozing, drop it on a lot of chicken on the same place and kill them. Each chicken will drop around 2 slimes upon death, which with looting will give you tons of slimes. Once you make a chicken farm, it will effectively also become the least effort and best return slime farm in the game.

    3. The way it can be fixed is by giving the slimes spawned using oozing potion a tag that they will not give any drops - the same way Zombies that are converted into Drowneds do not drop Tridents or Nautilus Shells.
