Change to netherite mining.

Netherite should generate also near the ceeling in nether, since bedrock is also there, it would have smaller chance to generate here than in lower areas but it would provide alternative to dealing with lava lakes.

Second, it should be generated in groups with other ancient blocks, something like ancient remains, like ancient debris is remaining of some old buildings, ancient remains also, they would generate in diffrent shapes and sizes, sometimes can be even huderds of blocks long and containing more than one ancient ore, and be also sometimes visible from air, not looking like sphere, like granite but more like long corrupted walls of ancient castle..

Maybe make debris even more rare but have this leading players to it.

[PS: And pls get rid of Netherite Upgrade, that thing is not good, or at least give it some lore, its so crucial element, maybe get some villagers to duplicate them for players, in exchange for diamonds and emeralds. Villagers are already too powerful.]
