Parity means making features behave consistently across different Minecraft editions, most commonly between Minecraft: Java Edition and Minecraft: Bedrock Edition. Use this category to discuss released features that exist in both versions of the game but work differently. Please note that bugs are not parity issues and should be reported separately.

Most of the lag that happens when trying to run a server for bedrock is due to level db issues, especially when the map size grows beyond a couple hundered MB. Leveldb's compaction process is single threaded which means that it can be pretty slow to finish, taking up to 10+ seconds if the hardware isn't very fast. It also blocks chunk loading for connecting players, which can cause a delay when loading in to a server, a connecting player triggers a compaction most of the time.

The java anvil format would be pretty much superior in every way to leveldb when trying to run a server for bedrock.
