The Mimic Lurker is a mob that can spawn in fields, in the deep dark, warped forests and crimson forests. It has 4 textures, that it can change between depending on the block burrowed into. This is around one block in size, and can burrow so only the top is revealed. The top can look like the following:
Dirt, grass, podzol, moss and rooted dirt: looks like grass on the block it burrowed into.
Sculk, it takes the appearance of a sculk sensor, it does not detect sound like one.
Nether wart blocks and crimson nylium: It will look like crimson roots.
Warped nether wart blocks and warped nylium: It will look like warped roots.
Soul sand, and soul soil: A 50/50 chance of warped or crimson roots.
When you walk over this creature, it bites you, for half a heart of damage, applying a slowness effect for 15 seconds on the first hit, it then surfaces, and tries to bite you again, bites while surfaced do 2 hearts of damage, but apply no slowness. If the slowness runs out before it can kill you, it will run away and try to hide when it cannot see you. If you escape it will try to hide in a new location.
What does this mob add? An element of fear. Perhaps it shouldn't appear in fields, or it only spawns on a full or new moon or something, as fields should be mostly safe. Unarmored players can die in 5 hits, and armored players will still get slowness, which is terrifying in the deep dark, the nether, and the nighttime Overworld.
