I would really like this idea to be a part of Minecraft. I wanted to tell this idea as a sort of story so that people would want to read more.
Imagine you’re wandering around an oak forest and you stumble across random blocks of cobblestone, stone and mossy cobblestone. These blocks were once part of an impressive fortress or walled village that had been left to rot many centuries ago. You go beyond these blocks and you see what used to be houses and shops lining a street which is no longer filled with villagers. Grass and even trees grow around and inside of these houses and have even created some of the holes and gaps you can see everywhere. A tower closer to the wall still stands, although it could be more structurally sound. Somewhere in the tower is a chest but you have to climb the walls and even jump over gaps in the walls. The slightest mistake could be your last.
Suspicious gravel can be found dotted around the area. If you dig in the right places, you could reveal hidden tunnels with more suspicious gravel, secret rooms, dungeons and even the old inhabitants of the village, zombified! Were they once the prisoners in this ruin or were they trying to escape from a terrible curse that caused them to become zombies? If it was the latter, they didn’t escape.
You have to be careful though. A Pillager camp could be found anywhere here. Woollen tents and a campfire indicates an ambush could be anywhere…
These Castle Ruins can also be found in plains, taigas and snow biomes.
